BelayTab is a browser extension that saves your open tabs as named sessions, snapshots every open window automatically, and keeps version history, so a crash, a bad update or a dead laptop never costs you your work. It’s made by Pointerflow LLC, a small software company registered in Wyoming, United States.
The Problem
Read the one-star reviews of almost any tab manager and you’ll find the same sentence: my tabs disappeared. After a browser update, after a crash, after reinstalling the extension. People keep dozens of tabs open because those tabs are their work in progress: research, drafts, bookings, things to come back to. Losing them isn’t a small annoyance. It’s lost work.
What We Do Differently
We treat your tabs as data worth protecting, not as a cache. BelayTab saves on its own every 5 minutes and whenever a window closes. It keeps the last 20 versions of every session, holds deleted sessions for 30 days, writes a backup of its own database before every update, and can export everything to a file you can open without us. Sync, the paid plan, adds a copy on our servers with 90 days of history.
How We Work
- Free where it costs us nothing. Everything that runs on your computer is free with no limits. We only charge for Sync, because servers cost money.
- Private by default. No host permissions, no scripts on the pages you visit, no analytics on your URLs. Signed out, nothing leaves your computer.
- You can always leave. Export is always available, and cancelling never locks your data.
- Honest comparisons. Our comparison pages say where other tools are better, too.
The Name
In climbing, to belay is to hold the rope so that a fall is caught before it costs anything. The climber still slips sometimes. The belay means it doesn’t matter. That’s the job we want BelayTab to do for your tabs.
