Save and Restore Arc Tabs Before They Archive
Install from Chrome Web StoreWhat BelayTab Supports in Arc
- Save & restore sessions
- Automatic snapshots
- Version history
- Tab groupsArc organises tabs with Spaces and folders rather than Chrome-style tab groups. BelayTab saves the tabs; Arc folders aren’t kept.
- Recently closed windows on the Recovery screen

- SyncPaid plan.
What Arc Does on Its Own
- Spaces keep separate sets of pinned and unpinned tabs, each with its own sidebar.
- Auto-archive closes unpinned tabs you haven’t used after 12 hours by default; you can change the time in Settings. Archived tabs can be found and reopened later.
- Reopen the last closed tab with Cmd+Shift+T.
- The Command Bar (Cmd+T) searches open tabs, history and bookmarks.
Where Arc’s Tools Fall Short
In 2025 The Browser Company stopped developing new Arc features to focus on its newer browser, Dia; Arc now receives maintenance and security updates only. If you plan to move browsers one day, there is no built-in way to export your Spaces and open tabs.
Auto-archive is useful for clutter, but it means tabs leave your sidebar whether or not you meant to keep them.
How BelayTab Fits Into Arc
Arc runs Chrome Web Store extensions, so BelayTab installs from there. It snapshots your windows every 5 minutes and on close, keeps the last 20 versions of each session, and exports to JSON, CSV, URL lists or HTML bookmarks that any browser can open.
That gives you a way out of Arc on your own schedule: save your sessions now, and open them in Chrome, Edge, Brave or Firefox when you’re ready.

Where do Arc’s archived tabs go?
Unpinned tabs you haven’t used are archived after 12 hours by default, and you can find and reopen them from Arc’s archive. Pinned tabs aren’t archived.
