Using the Recovery Screen to Get Lost Tabs Back

Step by Step
Open Recovery
Open BelayTab and go to Recovery.
Look at the most recent snapshot first
Snapshots are listed by date. After a crash, the latest one usually holds every window you had open.
Check the other sources if it isn’t there
Look through recently deleted sessions, the browser’s recently closed windows, and any export files listed.
Restore what you find
Click Restore to open the tabs again.
What Does the Recovery Screen Show?
- Sessions deleted in the last 30 days
- All automatic snapshots, browsable by date
- The browser’s own recently closed windows
- Any local export files found
- An import box for a OneTab or Session Buddy export
I Lost My Tabs in Another Tab Manager. Can This Help?
If you still have an export file from OneTab or Session Buddy, paste or drop it into the import box on the Recovery screen. BelayTab turns it into sessions you can restore.
Why Does Recovery Need the Sessions Permission?
BelayTab asks for the sessions permission only to read the browser’s recently closed list, and uses it only on the Recovery screen.
Safari doesn’t give extensions a recently closed list, so on Safari the Recovery screen shows snapshots, deleted sessions and export files, but not recently closed windows.

How long are deleted sessions kept?
30 days. After that they are removed from the trash.
Do I need an account to use Recovery?
No. Recovery works entirely on your computer, on the free plan.
I deleted a session a minute ago. What’s fastest?
Click Undo in the notification that appeared when you deleted it. If it’s gone, the session is in Recovery for 30 days.
