Step by Step
Install the extension
Add BelayTab from the store for your browser. It works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Arc, Firefox, and Safari on Mac.
Save your open tabs
The sessions page opens after install. Click the button that reads “Save 14 open tabs” (the number matches your window). The tabs become a session named after the site or topic they share.
Rename the session if you like
The automatic name comes from the most common domain or shared title words. Click the name to change it.
Restore it when you need it
Click Restore on the session row. The tabs open in a new window, or in the current one if you choose.
What Happens in the Background?
Once installed, BelayTab takes a snapshot of every open window every 5 minutes and whenever a window closes. You don’t need to press anything for this.
Each saved session keeps its last 20 versions, and deleted sessions stay in the trash for 30 days. The sessions page shows a storage health readout: how many sessions and tabs you have, how much space they use, and when you last exported.
Do I Need an Account?
No. Everything in the free plan works without an account, and your sessions stay in your browser on your computer. Signed-out users send nothing to our servers.
An account is only needed for Sync, the paid plan that copies your sessions to your other computers and to our servers.
Coming From Another Tab Manager?
The import option is on the sessions page. BelayTab imports from OneTab, Session Buddy, Tab Session Manager, Tablerone and plain lists of URLs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is BelayTab free?
Yes. Saving, restoring, snapshots, version history, import and export are free with no limit on sessions or tabs. Only Sync is paid, at $4 a month or $36 a year.
Does BelayTab close my tabs when I save them?
By default, yes, because freeing up the window is usually the point. You can change a setting to keep tabs open after saving.
Where are my sessions stored?
In your browser’s storage on your computer. Nothing leaves the device unless you turn on Sync.
