How to Save Tabs as a Session

Step by Step

1. Open the popup

   Click the BelayTab icon in your browser’s toolbar. Every tab in the current window is listed with a checkbox, all checked.

2. Uncheck anything you want to leave out

   The button updates as you go, for example “Save 12 tabs”.

3. Click Save

   The list collapses into a session row and a notification confirms it, for example “Saved to Research. Undo.”

4. Rename the session if you want

   BelayTab names the session from the most common domain or shared title words. The name is always editable.

What Are the Ways to Save?

• All tabs in the current window: one click, or Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+S
• Selected tabs only
• Every tab except the current one (save other tabs)
• Just the current tab
• All windows at once
• Right-click a page or link to add it to an existing session

What Gets Kept When I Save?

Each tab’s title and URL, the tab order, which tabs are pinned, and tab groups with their names and colours. Window position and size are restored where the browser allows it.

Safari doesn’t let extensions read tab groups, so the Safari version saves the tabs without their groups.

Do My Tabs Close After Saving?

Yes, by default, so the window is cleared and the browser uses less memory. If you’d rather keep them open, change the setting and BelayTab will save a copy while leaving the tabs where they are.

If you save by mistake, click Undo in the notification.
