Step by Step
Arrange your tab groups as usual
Use your browser’s own tab groups. BelayTab doesn’t change how you create them.
Save the window
Click the BelayTab icon and save, or press Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+S. Groups are saved with their names and colours.
Restore the session
Click Restore. The groups are recreated with the same names, colours and tabs.

Safari has no tab group API for extensions. BelayTab on Safari saves and restores the tabs themselves, but not the groups.
Why Does BelayTab Need the Tab Groups Permission?
The tabGroups permission lets BelayTab read group names and colours when saving and recreate them when restoring. It isn’t used for anything else.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do tab groups survive a browser crash?
Yes, in browsers that support them. Automatic snapshots record the groups, so restoring a snapshot brings them back.
Do I need to do anything special to keep my groups?
No. Save the window as usual and the groups are saved with it.
